Since 3 years, URSATEC has been a permanent member of the Tholey community.
We support the global healthcare industry in the development and production of preservative-free healthcare products. The basis of this success are the innovative dispensing systems with which we have been operating successfully on the market since 1993.

For us, "WHEN PRESERVATIVE FREE MATTERS®" is more than just a slogan, it is the focus of our actions and the commitment we bring to our product and service portfolio. On the one hand, we attach great importance to a value chain 100% made in Germany as well as the use of high-quality plastics that enable a recyclability of up to 96%.
On the other hand, we are aware of our responsibility for the environment, especially as a producer of products made of plastics. Therefore, it is our concern to take appropriate measures to minimize the negative impact on the CO2 footprint.
Operating in the strictly regulated pharmaceutical industry, only limited possibilities are available to use alternative materials or recycled plastics. Therefore, our sustainability focus shifts from the material itself, towards compensation measures with primarily local involvement, with which we want to reduce the environmental impact.
The tree planting campaign on March 21, 2022, in cooperation with the municipality of Tholey is a very good example:
An area was selected that had to be cleared due to heavy bark beetle infestation and wind damage. Thanks to the support of URSATEC, 500 sycamores, 500 bird cherries and 100 wild service trees have now been planted.
Thereby, we get involved locally and, together with the community, induce a positive change.
In addition to reforestation, we are also considering other measures, such as a Germany-wide digital charity race together with our largest partners. Fundraising will benefit e.g. the Institute for Ocean Plastic Recycling (ifopr). This organization ignites awareness of waste avoidance in the oceans and is committed to environmental education.
In the long term, projects are also planned with our partners in Brazil to also proactively work on rainforest protection and improve our footprint in South American countries.
Our main product has also been analyzed in terms of its Product Carbon Footprint (PCF), generating a defined amount of CO2 that can be translated in compensation projects. Planned is a correlation of the compensation measures with the annual output of URSTAEC, so that the positive effects on the environment grow parallel with strong company years.
